Accessing the widget

To access the Data Selector widget, navigate to the Operational section, then to Outputs, and select Data Selector from the menu.

Overview and Function

The Data Selector widget simplifies the process of selecting and transmitting specific data points within the application. Data is received through a designated input port, allowing users to choose the desired element from the presented options. The chosen data point is then automatically sent to a designated output port, enabling its utilization by other widgets such as graphs.

The expand/collapse arrows (indicated in the image) allow users to toggle between showing and hiding additional data fields, optimizing their workflow and reducing visual clutter. This functionality is essential when working with complex data, as it provides a way to streamline the interface and focus on key metrics.

Integrating Data Selector with Graphs

The Data Selector widget in Thales OSS is a powerful tool for managing and visualizing data through its integration with the Graph widget.

Series vs. Numerical Data: The widget distinguishes between series (which can be graphed) and numerical data (which may not be graphable). The graph icon indicates data that can be visualized.

  • Graphical Output: Series data selected in the Data Selector can be output to a connected Graph widget, displaying corresponding curves for analysis.
